Our ISAs have changed
What you need to know
- To open a new cash ISA with us, you now need to be at least 18 years old. If you’re 16 or 17 and already have an ISA with us, you can keep your account and continue to pay into it.
- The amount you can pay into your ISA accounts per year (known as your annual ISA subscription limit) for 2024/2025 is still £20,000.
- You can still only subscribe (the formal term for paying into your ISA) to one cash ISA with us per tax year, but you can pay any remaining subscription allowance you may have left with another ISA provider. If you do this, you need to make sure your payments stay within the £20,000 annual ISA subscription limit
- You’ll still need to ‘re-activate’ your ISA with us if you haven’t paid into it during the previous tax year. Once your ISA is reactivated, you can then subscribe to it again.
- You can still only make current tax year subscription transfers (in or out of your ISA) in full. Partial transfers of current tax year subscriptions are not permitted.
Changes to our variable rate ISA Specific Terms
The following changes impact most of our variable rate ISAs. You can find a list of the products affected below:
- The minimum age to open a cash ISA has increased from 16 to 18.
- You can only make current tax year subscriptions into one cash ISA with us.
- You can still only make transfers of current tax year subscriptions (in or out of your ISA with us) in full. Partial transfers of current tax year subscriptions are not permitted.
- We have made some small changes to wording and punctuation to help make our terms and conditions easier to understand.

The following changes only impact our Regular Saver ISA – Annual and Additional Allowance ISA:
- The minimum age to open a cash ISA has increased from 16 to 18.
- You can only make current tax year subscriptions into one cash ISA with us.
- We have made some small changes to wording and punctuation to help make our terms and conditions easier to understand.
The following change only impacts our Junior Cash ISA (1) and Junior ISA (2):
- A child can no longer open and contribute to an adult ISA at age 16.
