We’ve been named second in the list of the 25 Best Big Companies to Work For by The Sunday Times. We also received the highest rating of three stars for employee engagement and came first in the Wellbeing category and second in Giving Something Back.
Lucy Becque, HR Director, commented: “We’re thrilled to be named one of the very best companies to work for. As these awards are based on a survey of all employees, there’s no better measure of how great it is to work here.
It’s particularly exciting to have scored so well in the Wellbeing category, as this is central to the way we look after our people. We offer a range of initiatives to help promote positive wellbeing including carers’ flexibility which gives paid time off to look after loved ones, the ability to work flexibly, free fruit and drinks, pension education, access to counselling, health checks and subsidised memberships for sports facilities.
We were also delighted to come second in the Giving Something Back category, as we encourage our people to make a difference in our local communities. From fundraising, volunteering and raising awareness for local good causes to talking to members about important issues such as fraud and financial crime, we empower our people to make a difference.
We’ve seen that when our people enjoy what they do, they consistently deliver great results and it’s no coincidence that our customer service is second to none. We’re focused on doing the right thing for our members – that strikes a chord with people who work here and with people who want to work here… it’s quite popular with our members too!”
