App security
Our app is safe and secure. We look at how you use your account online to help us spot things that aren’t normal. This helps us to tell if a fraudster is trying to use your account.
How we protect you
- Built-in security. Our app uses software to keep your banking details safe and private.
- Safe start. The app checks your details, your device and its software before you log in. It also checks when you make a change in the app or make a payment.
- Remote control. If your phone is lost or stolen, our Customer Service Centre and branches can unregister the app from your device remotely.
- Face ID or Touch ID. It uses unique biological traits, such as your fingerprint or face to verify your identity.
Don't share your PIN with others to access the app on your device.

Will my app log me out automatically?
The app will automatically log you out after 5 minutes of inactivity, or if you manually close the app on your device. If you'd prefer to log out manually you can do this in the Settings tab.
I share my device with someone else. Will they be able to view my accounts?
Any Face or Touch ID registered on this device will be able to access your Coventry Building Society app, so we’d advise storing just your own biometrics on the device. Remember, biometrics will only be in place if you opted in to them within the app.
